The Roadster Dreams Are Made Of
In early March, from a high-rise rooftop vantage point overlooking Beverley Hills, California, Polestar revealed the O₂ concept electric roadster. The assembled media were tantalized with the thought it would actually go into production. We now know it will be as the Polestar 6, scheduled to launch in 2026 with online reservations being taken now.
The stunning Polestar 6 will be available in all Polestar markets, with 500 special “LA Concept” versions that will exclusively feature the signature Sky Blue exterior, light leather interior and the unique 21-inch wheels of the original Polestar O₂ concept.
Here is what we know so far:
- Hard-top convertible
- Built on the Polestar bonded aluminum platform (shared with the recently announced Polestar 5 sedan)
- Dual electric motors
- All-wheel drive
- 884 horsepower
- 663 pound-feet of torque
Pricing and Availability
The Polestar 6 is projected go on sale in 2026. Pricing has not been announced, but is expected to be well into six digits.
Observations: Polestar 6 EV
Clean Fleet Report has reviewed the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2, both times coming away impressed of the performance and build quality. The Polestar 3 SUV is due later this year, to be followed the the Polestar 4 SUV and Polestar 5 performance sedan in succeeding years. We expect an even higher level of attention to performance and quality with the Polestar 6, which will be the brand’s halo model.
When we saw it at the Beverly Hills reveal the Polestar O₂ induced a silent gasp and a smile, just as it did for others seeing the concept for the first time. The excitement and anticipation now that the Polestar 6 has a target launch date is real.
Clean Fleet Report wishes we could tell you more, but like us you will have to wait over the coming months for Polestar to leak more tidbits.
