News: Lamborghini Enters the Electric Car Race

| | ,

Limited Availability for Very Fast Electrified Car

Clean Fleet Report will never advise you not to buy a certain car because of its price. If you have worked hard, you have earned the right to own whatever car you want. With that said, let’s take a quick look at one of the new electric cars that was announced today, which will be at the very high-end of the market. (Look at this as round two since a we just covered the debut of the 2020 Porsche Taycan, another high-end, high-horsepower electric.)

Inspiration from the past; technology for the future

Enter the Lamborghini Sián

Next up is the Lamborghini Sián, which is a limited edition (63 total vehicles) hybrid sports car. With a 6.5-liter V12 engine, and the first-ever use of a supercapacitor for the hybrid drive, a combined 819 horsepower will get the Sián down the road to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Top speed is governed at 217 mph. The Sián also has a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The car debuts at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The design of this new supercar was inspired by the iconic Lamborghini Countach, though the designers pointed out this is not a retro styling exercise. The Sián features a carbon fiber body.

The supercar interior only 63 will own

If you have to ask about the price, well, you know how the saying goes. It’s even beyond that with the Sián. All 63, at $3.6 million each, are spoken for. However, if by any chance you do get a Sián, please oh please let Clean Fleet Report drive it so we can write a review on what should be an impressive hybrid super car.

Lamborghini, which is part of the VW Group, said at the car’s debut, that this was the first volley in the brand’s move to electrification.
