Protect Your Car & Your MPG

Winter is not going to be the best time of year for your car. Winter is when everything sort of falls apart, especially for cars with bigger batteries. Unless you like the extremely short night’s and the cold weather, you’ve probably been wishing the weeks away until you can finally get to see the sun again. Although we have been having a mild winter where I am, compared to years ago where we used to have to battle snow and the drop in temperatures, we’re having milder weather that just doesn’t seem as bad.

But, the summer months are always better for driving around, and some of you will absolutely hate winter because of how much trouble it creates on the road as well as the impact on your electric range. Even if the weather isn’t that bad, the roads always seem to be worse when there’s not as many light hours in the day. We want to show you how you can make sure the outside of your car stays in perfect condition this winter, so that when the summer comes around, you’re cruising around in a near showroom perfect card.

Protect Against Bad Weather

Bad weather is what all car enthusiasts dread. There’s bad weather in terms of the snow, which is yet to come, but may well happen before we see the summer sun. It turns some cars into Bambi on ice, such as BMW and Audis. Rear-wheel drive cars suck, so it might be worth getting some chains for the wheels to help to add more traction.

What you will have seen more of this year is rain. It creates rocks as well as leaving your car muddy and dirty. And a car with clean emissions should also have a clean exterior. Roads are potentially full of lose stones that could chip the paint on your car. Cquartz coatings is a highly effective wax-like coating that would protect your paintwork all year long. It gives it that luxurious gloss finish and is far more effective than a basic wax you might get with a car wash. That stuff pretty much does nothing!

Avoid the Mayhem

Mayhem on the roads is getting worse each year, especially during the winter months. At night time it’s as though people forget how to drive just because it’s dark. The same goes when it’s raining, which we’ll see a lot come the summer anyway. We’d always recommend avoiding the main highways during rush hour traffic and during bad weather. Take public transport, you’ll reduce your environmental footprint and probably end up saving yourself some money! If you have a brand-new car or a car you really value, this is such a good idea!

Keep Up with Maintenance

Maintenance of your car is key during these months where you’re probably not going to be driving as much. You should be topping up the oil and windshield washer water levels, as well as the water for the engine. Checking the tire pressures and treads before you do a long journey is also essential and pays benefits in fuel economy. As long as you can do these simple things, your car should keep running throughout summer without any issues and deliver you the kind of mpg you expect.
