News: General Motors Commits to All EVs in 2035

General Motors announced a suite of environmental commitments Thursday, including a pledge to eliminate tailpipe emissions from its light-duty vehicles by 2035, be carbon neutral in all global products and operations by 2050 and sign the Business Ambition Pledge to 1.5°C.

News: General Motors Makes Big Electric Vehicle Moves

Speculation about a spin-off of the electric vehicle-battery portion of General Motors into a separate company was muted by three actions this week that not only boosted the EV side of GM’s business, but bolstered the company’s overall standing.

General Motors Working on 32 Plug-in Hybrid and Electric Cars

A General Motors executive recently told a small group that GM is working on 32 electric car derivatives all based on Voltec, the Chevrolet Volt’s electric drive system. Voltec is GM’s architecture and roadmap for a number of exciting vehicles future vehicles with electric drive systems. Volt demand is strong. In 2012, global production capacity is expected to be 60,000 vehicles with an estimated 45,000 to be delivered in the United States.
