One Stop Shop For EV Owners
Congratulations on the decision to buy a car that plugs into the wall. Yay! But to get full advantage of your new EV, only using the 120V slow charge is not going to make you very happy. What to do? Does your sales representative at the dealership have any advice? If you buy a new plug-in Kia, they will.
Kia and Amazon are partnering on a program where, when you drive out of a Kia dealership in your Soul EV, Niro EV or PHEV or Optima PHEV, you can easily order a home charger and installation through Amazon. Most owners will opt for a Level 2 (240V) charger that will make charging speed of between 3-to-6.5 times faster, depending on the car.
The new program is backed by the Amazon Happiness Guarantee, which covers the installation by a licensed electrician and the charger. All prices will be available upfront so there are no surprises.
Consumer acceptance of plug-in vehicles should be increased by programs such as this. Kia and Amazon realize this is a great step for more and more car buyers making the change to an electrified vehicle. Other automakers offering plug-ins have programs with preferred charging vendors offered at the dealership, but this is a more flexible approach.
Make sure to opt-in to the Clean Fleet Report newsletter (top right of page) to be notified of all new stories and vehicle reviews.
