Feature: Homemade Electric Car Chases Guinness Record

Eric Lundgren took his junkyard dog BMW electric car with 90 percent recycled parts and made a run for a Guinness Record. Built at a cost of $13,800 in 45 days with no R&D and three-year-old batteries repackaged from broken cells, “The Phoenix” was going to challenge the current record for the furthest distance driven by an electric car on a single charge.
